Salary: $38.58/hour.  Upon successfully completing a one-year Maintenance Machinist Trainee program, individuals may move into a General Machinist classification at $40.58/hour.

Maintenance General Machinist Trainee Essential Job Functions:

Troubleshoot, repair, and disassemble/reassemble machinery. Perform preventative maintenance. Machine parts as needed. Assist with process improvement and initiate change. Use a variety of hand tools and manual lathes/mills. Adhere to all safety requirements including lockout/tagout and wearing required PPE.

Maintenance General Machinist Trainee Position Requirements*:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Must meet one of the following requirements: Minimum two-year Vo-Tech program, such as Machine Tool Operations, Industrial Machinist, or an equivalent program; OR, Minimum of two years of relative shop experience Experience must include work on manual conventional lathes/mills, boring mills, machine shop equipment, and repair work. Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces and lift and carry 50 lbs. Experience operating heavy equipment such as a forklift, tractor, crane, and backhoe preferred.  Strong math and blueprint reading. Must possess a valid driver's license.  Must be flexible to work other straight shifts, rotating weekly shifts (midnights, afternoons, days), weekends, and forced overtime.
