We have an exciting opportunity for a Wind Turbine Service Technician at Windy Hill Windfarm, located near Ravenshoe on the Atherton Tableland in Queensland. This role is ideal for someone with an electrical trade background who is eager to transition into the renewables sector and enjoys a secure role where you will be home every night.
We provide comprehensive Wind Farm Technician training, along with a phone and vehicle. We are committed to investing in your ongoing development and there will be ample opportunities for growth as you progress. Working as part of a small team you will have the chance to get involved in all aspects of the Wind farm operations with a focus on maintenance tasks. The role will provide you with lots of variety and a wide range of responsibilities to learn and contribute to.
This is a permanent, full-time position with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime so we are looking for someone who resides locally. Please note that as this is a permanent residential role it unfortunately will not support a FIFO arrangement or temporary work visa.

What you’ll do
Planned preventative maintenance routines and performance checks. Breakdown maintenance. Operate and / or assist with the operation of the plant. Document information into the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements. Comply and assist with all HSE requirements. Respond to afterhours call outs based on the standby/call out roster. Provide support to other wind farm sites as required. Provide mentoring of other team members to support the team growth.What you’ll have
Electrical Trade Qualification (HV switching experience is desirable). Experience in Wind Farm maintenance is desirable, however, training will be provided for the right candidate. Working and Rescue at Heights certification is highly desirable, training can be given for the right candidate. Confident working at heights and climbing ladders up to 70m height. Current Driver’s License. Accredited wind turbine training preferred but not essential. Significant work experience in the heavy industry sector is desirable. Basic Knowledge of asset management principles. Proactive can-do attitude and comfortable working in a small team. High focus on HSE.Why you should apply
