Hourly pay range- $23-$35

The Wind Turbine Technician I will be responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of the turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) at Cedar Point. This is an entry level of the Wind Turbine Technicians. Under the guidance of the Lead turbine technicians, this position will perform routine scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the wind turbines as assigned with a goal of improving uptime and production.

What You Will Do:

Adhere to Enbridge safety standards, procedures and safety culture. Ensure work is completed in accordance with safe work practices, including electrical safety, working at heights, control of hazardous energy, confined space, and cargo management, among others.

As a junior member of the team and under the guidance of Lead technicians: Support the completion of scheduled / standard work such as regular maintenance; Support troubleshooting of turbines (basic) and support completion of asset integrity inspections and unscheduled (minor and major) work; Support the electrical switching of turbines; utilize SCADA to support required work

Follow basic structured problem-solving processes to complete basic troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks (including the use of diagnostic tools - fluke meter, SCADA information, interpreting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings etc.)

Perform data entry in the Maintenance Management System (Maximo)

Who You Are:

You possess a High School Diploma and about 1 year of relevant work experience and may have limited capabilities/qualifications related to wind turbines. A combination of education and experience may be considered

Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics. Ability to hear and use close range radios.

Excellent computer skills, with solid understanding of Microsoft Windows programs

Ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices / protocols including LOTO.

Ability to optimally participate in all training courses, such as first aid, CPR and AED, climb and rescue training, and confined space training.

Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.

The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes a 5-year driving record, criminal check, Education & Employment verification, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Flexible work hours may be required to support the facility and be available to support Emergency Response needs of the facility

Although the incumbent will be assigned to a location in particular, the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed

Role will require being on-call (24/7) to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis)

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort with completing physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions and comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion.
