Enbridge is looking for a Wind Turbine Technician II to join our team! This role is responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of the turbines and Balance of Plant at New Creek.

This position will independently perform assigned scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the wind turbines with a goal of improving uptime and production.

What You Will Do:

Adhere to Enbridge safety standards, procedures and ensure a positive safety culture.

Ensure work is completed in accordance with safe work practices, including electrical safety, at heights, control of hazardous energy, confined space, and cargo management.

Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.

As a proficient technician you will ensure performance and maintenance of wind turbines through assigned tasks. Your accountabilities will include:

Actively participate in the completion of asset integrity inspections and unscheduled (minor and major) work

Apply SCADA to support required work

Identify risks and gaps in task execution in the operational environment of a Wind Turbine facility and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.

Who You Are:

You possess a High School Diploma

As a Level II technician, you will have at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience related to wind turbines

Proficient with Scheduled / Standard work; Competent with Troubleshooting (basic and advanced)

Competent and qualified with High Voltage Electrical Switching

An understanding of wind power related systems, including, pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, electrical, mechanical and power plant systems.

Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows programs, Wind Turbine SCADA Systems, Turbine Software Uploading, Maintenance Management Programs (Maximo)

Ability to successfully participate in all training courses such as first aid, CPR and AED, climb and rescue training, and confined space training

Working Conditions:

Although / the incumbent will be assigned to New Creek location in particular, the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed.

Role requires a valid Driver’s License, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire and ability to obtain a Passport.

Role will require being on-call (24/7) to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis).

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion.
