Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Windows/Linux System Admin III to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities Provide both classified and unclassified server support in a physical and virtual Wndows based environment. Support RedHat Linux servers. Automating tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible. Networking tasks from machine to wall and troubleshoot network and server issues independently. Perform duties in a highly secured area. Qualifications BS/BA and 2 years of relecant experienceIn leiu of a degree additional relevant experience may be applicableU.S. Citizenship is required per contract. Must have an active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret with reciprocityMust be willing to take and pass a Polygraph, if necessaryWindows Server System Administration experience at least 1-3 yearsFamiliarity with network protocols and network management technologiesSkill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgradesAbility to understand the application and utilization of software packages, maintain accurate recordsAbility to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issuesAbility to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platformsAbility to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guidesComputer and network troubleshootingExcellent customer service and communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administratorsAbility to work well in a collaborative team environmentDesired:
STIG or system hardeningLinux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 1-3 yearsPrior working experience with Sandia infrastructureWindows system administration experience at least 1-3 yearsAutomation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 yearsExperience leading and implementing large technical solutionsRHCE/CCNAExperience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processesExperience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experienceESXI or similar hypervisor experienceSec + or other security certificationAbout Us:
