Job Description:

Sun Life seeks a Windows Systems Engineer with experience in implementing and administering windows in a virtualized environment to support our growing Infrastructure Services team.

Preferred skills

Experience in server and desktop virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp Server and XenDesktop preferred.Experience with AWS cloud services (AWS SysOps Certification) is preferred.Experience Terraform is preferred.Experience with Containers is preferred.Experience working with outsourced vendors is preferred.Experience with server/desktop patch management using SCCM, Qualys, or Tanium is preferred.Experience with file access management using Varonis is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or relevant hands-on experience.Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines.Ability to design and document complex workflows.Strong proficiency in managing DNS, DFS, SMTP, clustering.Experience scripting in Powershell, Python, Perl or other languages.Strong proficiency in VMware VSphere and cloud management technologies.Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VMPLS, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc.).Well-rounded knowledge of storage solutions (Vmax, VNX, Data Domain, Nimble).Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, flexibility in concepts and action, able to handle aggressive mission critical deadlines.Looks for any areas of improvement and suggests changes, rather than waiting for direction.Excellent team player - proven ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically.Experienced systems engineer who has 3+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 operating systems.Knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy creation and management.

Responsibilities

Support production and pre-production technology systems in a hybrid cloud/datacenter environment.Create additional automation by leveraging IaC and scripting repetitive tasks.Support Active Directory (Directory Services, DFS, DNS, GPO).Participate in strategic projects.Monitor work queues, respond to and troubleshoot incidents.Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks.Other duties as needed or required.

Southern California region: $86,000 - $129,000 annually

Central California region: $84,300 -$126,500 annually

Northern California region: $90,200 - $135,300 annually 
  
If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $76,300 - $114,500 annually 
 
If you are an Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $86,000 - $129,000 annually 
 
If you are Washington, Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $84,300 -$126,500 annually 
  
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $90,200 - $135,300 annually
