Compensation and Benefits:  

Compensation: Starting pay rate of $17.20, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience. 

Benefits: Full-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e., food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary: 

We're all about experiencing all these mountains have to offer, while providing the best possible experience for our guests. The job of the Lift Operator is to execute the proper, efficient, and courteous loading and unloading of our guests. To inspect, record and report the condition of all lift machinery. To provide maximum ticket security by ensuring each guest has a valid pass and to understand and promote Killington Pico Ski Resort Partners products and services. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

Daily inspection and safe operation of lifts and gondolas 

Execute opening procedures, daily operations and closing procedures for Lift Operations 

Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of guests from an assigned lift 

Knowledgeably and efficiently administer emergency procedures including lift breakdowns, evacuation, fire, and accident reporting. Communicate to guests, when appropriate, the status of a lift breakdown 

Execute opening procedures, daily operations and closing procedures for Lift Access Operations 

Provide a safe and presentable lift area by maintaining snow/ice buildup, removing trash and litter, and keeping low clearance/portal areas marked and visible 

Use tools provided to remove excess snow/ice from lift areas including but limited to the load/unload areas, maze, and low clearance/portal areas 

Provide an active and efficient flow of guests through the maze 

Ensure ticket security by monitoring RFID gate access for validation of passes 

Excellent ongoing guest service 

Communicate and make quick decisions and be a source of knowledgeable information in dealing with guest needs or questions as they arise

Qualifications: 

Must be at least 18 years old 

Must have reliable transportation which includes the bus 

Must be able to adhere to early morning starting times 

Must be available to work weekends and holidays 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

Excellent attitude, self-motivating 

Ability to work independently and at times with little supervision 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Must be able to handle emergency situations effectively 

Superior guest service experience 

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

Adequate language skills and reasoning ability 

Adequate problem solving and troubleshooting skills 

Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day 

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the day 

Must be able to work outside, in all weather conditions 

Intermediate Ski/Ride ability preferred
