Compensation and Benefits:  

Compensation: Non-Certified starting pay rate of $18.00

PSIA/AASI starting pay rate: $19.00/hr and up based on level of certification

Benefits: Full-time and part time, seasonal positions eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e., food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary: 

Share your passion for skiing and the mountain environment with others.  The Killington/Pico Snow Sports School has positions open at all levels. We are looking for instructors to join our team! We have full time, part time, and temp positions open for instructor candidates with or without previous experience. Join us as we inspire the next generation of snow sports enthusiasts. 

Summary of Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

Work together with Snow Sports supervisors and team leads to organize classes and students according to individual student goals and abilitiesTeach and demonstrate skiing/riding to classes of all abilities in a safe environment using a variety of teaching and ski/ride techniquesDemonstrate specific skiing / riding maneuvers, including loading, and unloading liftsProvide exceptional guest service while maintaining safety as a priority at all times.Work collaboratively with fellow staff and independently with groups or individual studentsWork in a variety of support roles and be willing to perform duties occasionally in other departments, such as rentals or lifts, as needed

Basic Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age & have passion for sharing the mountain experienceBe able to ski/ride at an intermediate level or aboveMust be willing to work with all ages including children ages 4 and up.Strong communication as well as interpersonal skillsAbility to ski/snowboard, demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 6.5 hours per day requiredAbility to work in all weather conditionsExperience working with children is preferred but not requiredOutdoor related experience preferred but not required

Killington/Pico Snow Sports School is committed to the highest level of instructor and professional growth. Season long training is provided in the following areas:

In house clinics for professional and personal developmentPSIA & AASI certification prep clinicsCross discipline training

Commitment Levels:

Seasonal FULL TIME:

Minimum 85 daysRequired 5 days/wk starting by 12/7 until 4/13/25Required additional attendance at paid staff training days (2 training days for rehires, 4 training days for new hires)

Seasonal PART TIME:

Minimum 24 daysRequired minimum of 16 Peak DaysRequired additional attendance at paid staff training days (2 training days for rehires, 4 training days for new hires)

PTOC/REHIRE staff only:

Minimum 10 days (selected from offered 16 Peak Days)Required additional attendance at 1 paid staff training dayMust be a rehire to Snow Sports
