Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Job Title: Special Events Security

Job Status: On Call

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $22.00.

Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employees. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, etc.) also available. 

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for maintaining a security checkpoint and enforcing the particular rules of special events. You will assist the Security Department with Event Security, Overnight Posts, and Village Patrol positions.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Event and Concert Security: 

Control access points and verify credentials for VIP and employee areas. 

Crowd Control for big events 

Overnight post positions for Vendor security 

Ancillary Security duties as assigned by Management 

Search bags and coolers for contraband including firearms, outside alcohol, and drugs. Disperse wristbands for persons over the age of 21. Control pedestrian traffic to ensure rules and regulations are applied to all persons passing through a checkpoint. Assist with the overall safety of the resort for guests and employees.

Basic Requirements:

Must be able to speak English. 

Must be able to stand for ten hours and move quickly when required. 

Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. 

Must be able to project voice over a ten-hour period. 

Must be able to work in a cold or hot outside environment for extended periods of time.     

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Must be at least 21 years old

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

Must have a high school education.
