Description
o Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.o Partners with state and local officials to implement the requirements of the WIA and ensures coordination between the Center and local Workforce Investment Boards, Chambers of Commerce, One Stop/Career Centers and Youth Councils.o Interviews, recommends for hire, disciplines, recommends for termination and evaluates the performance of the employees in their Department, if applicable.o Establishes and maintains meaningful relationships with elected officials.o Manages and supervises the Center’s public relations functions. Publicizes and coordinates major Center activities and accomplishments to enhance the image of the Center including coordinating Center tours, making presentations about the Job Corps program and drafting press releases. May serve as Center spokesperson as directed by the Center Director and in compliance with guidelines provided by the Department of Labor and the Office of Public Affairs.o Develops Center-beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, Career Technical Training and WBL including hosting and coordinating the quarterly Community Relations Council.o Participates in job development activities which lead to student success.o Works with Center's Industry Council to align the Center’s education and training with local workforce demands and to ensure students receive industry-relevant training.o Provides required/supplemental training for new and current employees.Page 2 of 2This job description includes data that shall not be disclosed outside the Corporation and shall not be duplicated, used ordisclosed - in whole or in part - for any purposes.o Motivates and manages staff to work effectively, creates a supportive work environment, recognizes staff accomplishments and proactively addresses staff performance concerns.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.o Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree required. Bachelors degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum of three years experience in community/public relations and working knowledge of youth-related community agencies and issues. Department of Labor approval required for BCL staff with supervisory responsibility.
