KBR is seeking an experienced Wire and RAM EDM Machinist to support multiple spacecraft missions for KBR’s Science and Space Division. 

The work will be performed at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, 7:00 AM to 03:30 PM, Monday through Friday.    

The Wire and RAM EDM Machinist will be responsible for: 

Setting-up, programming, and operation of wire and RAM EDM equipment as well as operating conventional machines for end-to-end manufacturing with minimal supervision. Performing in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (i.e., I.D and O.D. Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify that customer hardware specifications and tolerances are met. Communicating and engaging with engineers and designers to collaborate about complex designs and provide fabrication insight to ensure project success. Achieving and maintaining proficiency with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work. Monitoring and recording duration of work performed in the ERP system in accordance with business and Quality procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A High School diploma or equivalent.Exposure CAD/CAM programming software.Competency in operating general computer functions such as email, file directories, and other web-based applications.5+ years of experience with set-up, programming, and operation of EDM machining equipment.Able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experience with CNC milling and turningExposure MasterCam programming software (2017 and up)Proficient computer skills in programs such as; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.A current security clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level

Basic Compensation:

$60,000.00 - $90,000.00

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
