Job Description
As a Wire Harness Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices, including marking wires, securing them into bundles, and terminating them into various contacts and connectors. Your role will involve integrating cabling, including fiber optics and coaxial cables, and providing input on the assessment and repair/maintenance of avionic components. You will practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention, and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders, and other documents accurately.
ResponsibilitiesFabricate wire bundles and assemblies according to drawings and standard practices.Mark wires, secure them into bundles, and terminate them into various contacts and connectors.Manufacture and integrate cabling, including fiber optics and coaxial cables.Provide technical and operational knowledge for the assessment and repair/maintenance of avionic components.Continuously practice safety behavior and FOD awareness/prevention.Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, and engineering orders accurately.Perform skilled manual and technical work using hand tools, soldering irons, circuit testers, voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.Utilize electrical and measuring tools, including environmental crimpers, large and small crimpers, AMP crimper, Burndy crimper, megohmmeter, multimeter, strippers, push-pull scale, weigh scale, and bond meters.Prepare and maintain records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records.Essential Skills2.5+ years of experience in assembling and fabricating wire harness modifications (backshop/not hands-on aircraft installation).Experience with aircraft avionics, coaxial cable, and coaxial connectors.Ability to work from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.Experience with crimping, running, and terminating wires for both fiber optics and coaxial cables.Proficiency with hand tools, including soldering, crimping, and multimeters.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with electrical and measuring tools such as environmental crimpers, large and small crimpers, AMP crimper, Burndy crimper, megohmmeter, multimeter, strippers, push-pull scale, weigh scale, and bond meters.Why Work Here?
This is a long-term contract position with the potential to move to a direct team within 6 months based on performance. You will be paid for federal holidays and do not need to bring your own tools.
Work Environment
You will be working in a backshop environment with shifts available for both 1st and 2nd shifts. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday (4/10's). The pay range for 1st shift is $25-26/hr based on experience, and for 2nd shift, it is $27-28/hr based on experience.
