Wire Worker
**Job Title: Wire Worker** **Job Description** This is an entry-level position with training provided. We are looking for reliable candidates who show up to work each day. If you have previous wiring or electrical assembly experience, that is a huge plus, and the pay will be higher to start. **Responsibilities** + Install wires onto panel boards using basic hand and power tools (pliers, screwdrivers, etc.) + Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions to assemble panel boards for locomotives + Strip insulation from wire ends and crimp/solder wires to connectors and terminals + Wrap wire identification tags around wires + Loop wire along tie bars or other methods of forming and securing on panel, enclosure, or cabinet following component layout, diagram, or wire list + Wrap and tie wires together at designated points to form harness/solid structure, provide spacing, and prohibit abrasion points + Apply wires/terminated cables to specific equipment or predetermined locations following wiring diagram or wire list + Apply insulating tape over bus bar + Cut, strip, tape, form, terminate, and crimp wire and cable + Install cables and attach to connect electrical components mounted in enclosures, cabinets, or control apparatus + Inspect for damage and replace defective wire + Lift up to 40 lbs. **Essential Skills** + Basic experience utilizing various hand and power tools + Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams + 1+ years of assembly experience within a manufacturing environment **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with wiring, blueprints, and assembly within a manufacturing environment + Ability to identify simple information on work orders, wire lists, equipment lists, and drawings + Experience in machine operating, quality control, and manufacturing or assembly is beneficial but not necessary **Why Work Here?** This is a great long-term opportunity to be hired directly and advance into different departments. You will also have the chance to be trained on new skills. **Work Environment** Our client is a manufacturing company located in Minooka, IL that designs, builds, and repairs control systems and cabinets for locomotives. The work area is very well lit and climate-controlled. Each contractor has their own work station, similar to a school setting with work benches. The position is first shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday with minimal overtime. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minooka, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
