Women's & Children's Center RN House Supervisor

The RN House Supervisor is an experienced nurse who collaborates with directors and administration to provide 24/7 oversight of hospital operations to ensure adherence to health system policies and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for coordination of quality patient care and often serves as the after-hours and weekend leader, addressing patient concerns and facilitating efficient hospital throughput and optimal staffing.
Coordinates nursing services with department leadership to facilitate adequate staffing based on census and patient need; evaluates staffing and resources to ensure optimal utilization of personnel based on skill level and experience.
Collaborates with health care team for decisions on patient placement.
Collaborates with department charge nurses, providers, and other departments to expedite patient throughput.
Assists with triaging and admission prioritization to facilitate patient throughput when necessary.
Responds to campus emergency alerts (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Missing Patients, etc), carries out assigned role, and facilitates patient movements if necessary.
Collaborates with staff/patients/patient representatives regarding ethical dilemmas, new procedures, and chain of command interventions.
Serves as a consultant to hospital staff, physicians, and outside agencies on operational issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Preferred: Master?s degree in nursing or similar field
EXPERIENCE:Required: 3 or more years as a Registered Nurse required.
Preferred: Acute care setting. Previous leadership and/or critical care experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
RN- Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or Compact state.
BLS
ACLS
Notary public certification in the State of North Carolina (must be completed within six months of hire)
