Partnering with our industry leading OSB and Engineered Wood Products businesses, the Weyerhaeuser Product Engineering, Codes and Standards team plays a critical role in ensuring code compliance, product evaluation and design, quality control, raw materials selection, process improvement, and application support.
The position is for an entry or intermediate level Scientist with an applicable degree. The selected candidate will work with a diverse team of engineers, wood scientists, technicians and product specialists to invent, enhance, evaluate, design, and manufacture wood product solutions for our customers. This will include lab evaluations, manufacturing trials, quality control, technical advice to procurement, sustainability, safety functions, and participation in the wood industry community. The candidate will support the work of the Senior Scientists, receive training in products and processes, lead projects, analyze data, write reports, and present results to stakeholders. This position will be part of the Product Engineering, Codes Standards group. It is a full-time, overtime-exempt position and requires a moderate amount of travel (primarily U.S. and Canada) as dictated by assignments. The location for this role is in Federal Way, WA.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining and expanding knowledge of existing wood products, including wood and wood composites properties, additive properties, supplier relationships, processing characteristics, and relative performance level, evaluation of alternatives, and development of novel products, additives, and evaluation methods. Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting salary range of $72,742 to $109,113 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
