Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Work Assistant for the Office of Education & Training within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The ideal candidate for this position is a student or recent graduate of a graduate level program interested in training the next generation of a diverse oncology workforce.Among the key duties for this position are the following:

Assist in organizing two Scholar (graduate students and post-docs) Recruitment Symposiums (spring and fall) highlighting CINJ research programs and faculty. Develop collaborative relationships with local, regional, and national MSI and HBCU to identify potential new trainees for the underserved scholar (graduate students and post-docs) pipeline. Work with Faculty Navigators at collaborating institutions to recruit and interact directly with their scholars (graduate students and post-docs) to guide and assist with academic stage appropriate professional career development in collaboration with CINJ CRTEC. Support career development opportunities of scholars (graduate students and post-docs) and Early-Stage Investigators (e.g. writing grants and journal articles and communicating science to the lay public and networking). Assist in tracking and monitoring outcomes of scholars reached through this program. Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement and may be eligible for a compressed workweek or a flex workday schedule. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.
