Position Summary

The Team Leader oversees the tire maintenance and service program for transit bus vehicles across five customer-owned tire shops within the King County Metro area. This role requires managing Bridgestone teammates stationed at these locations, ensuring contract compliance, maintaining safety standards, handling administrative duties, and fostering strong relationships with both customers and union representatives. Flexibility to work early morning shifts and travel between bus transit locations is essential.

Pay Range: $27.24 - $47.04

Responsibilities

Supervision and Team Leadership

Oversee Teammates at Transit Locations:Supervise and support Bridgestone teammates across all locations.Ensure each teammate understands expectations and can work independently.Monitor teammate performance, attendance, and behavior.Conduct monthly performance tracking, evaluations, and performance reviews.Address teammate issues and administer disciplinary actions as necessary.Communicate any concerns or outstanding performance to management.Organize and lead monthly safety meetings to promote a culture of safety.Union Relations:Partner to work through union-related matters and participate in meetings with union representatives.Address teammate and union issues promptly and professionally.

Operational Management

Contract Compliance and Safety:Visit locations regularly to validate contract compliance and safety protocols.Perform bi-weekly safety inspections at each location.Prepare and submit safety inspection reports using Salesforce.Ensure teammates are performing duties safely and using personal protective equipment.Inventory and Supply Chain Management:Manage the ordering and supply of tires and related materials to support all locations.Determine tire and supply needs for each location.Inventory, record, and schedule tires designated for scrap or retreading pickup.Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in efficient operating conditions.

Customer Relations

Communication with Transit Personnel:Establish and maintain a regular communication cadence with King County Metro personnel.Hold meetings to establish goals, assess customer needs, and discuss operational changes.Collaborate with customers to ensure service excellence and address any concerns promptly.

Administrative Duties

Documentation and Reporting:Manage paperwork and inspections per the contract requirements.Complete weekly payroll reporting for all team members.Process all necessary paperwork on time.Expense Management:Track work expenses and report them using Concur.Review, code, and prepare invoices requiring payment.Maintain accurate records of inventory, invoices, and operational metrics.

General Service Duties

Work Environment Maintenance:Keep the work area clean and clear of all debris to ensure a safe work environment.Safety Compliance:Observe all safety rules and procedures associated with the performance of duties.Use personal protective equipment according to regulations and company policies.

Working Conditions and Occupational Demands

Environment:Work is performed at bus transit locations, which can be very hot during summer months and cold during winter.Exposure to various chemicals used in cleaning, lubrication, etc.Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting over 50 pounds regularly.Exerting 100+ pounds of pressure when pushing tires.Repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, vibrations.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and tire maintenance work.Must use personal protective equipment according to regulations and policies.Schedule:Flexibility to work early morning shifts and adjust hours as needed to meet operational demands.Regular travel between multiple locations within the King County Metro area.

Nature of Decision-Making

Determine tire and supply needs for each location.Decide on types of repairs necessary and materials needed to complete service work.Determine disposition of off tires (e.g., scrap or retread).Assess what information to communicate to the Field Manager and when to escalate issues.Make decisions to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or team leader role within the automotive or tire industry.Experience working with unionized teams is preferred.Familiarity with public transit tire maintenance is a plus.Skills:Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in inventory management and supply chain coordination.Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.Proficiency in Salesforce and Concur.Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.Ability to perform physical tire work, including lifting over 50 pounds regularly.
