There are few equivalent projects of such an industrial drilling magnitude in a remote and sensitive area. A Green Field Project, the Tilenga field is to be found in a remote location in Uganda near lake Albert with sensitive environmental conditions.
A challenging project: circa 200 oil producer wells and 200 water injector wells; heavy and waxy oils produced and treated in a Production Center of 200,000bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bld of water treatment capacity; reservoir pressure maintenance is ensured by water injection; Oil produced through ESP (Electrical Submersible Pumps) Artificial lift means. The project also includes an extended interconnecting network with temperature preservation.
Multicultural environment: Contractors are anticipated to be located in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as International codes for onshore plant will apply.
Three (3) drilling rigs drill and run the lower completion of the 420+ wells. Two (2) workover rigs are planned to be operating from first oil to maintain the well, with circa 90% of their workscope being ESP replacement on the Oil Producer wells. The first workover rig is to be mobilized before first oil to run the Oil Producers Upper Completions in the suspended wells
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
HSE:
Display HSE Leadership by setting an example of high HSEQ standards at all time. Active participation to the Site Committee Meetings on the workover rig. Promote the use of the site of the HSE programsAssist in preparation and updates of the Technological Risk Assessment, the Bridging Document and BOCP.Ensure safe startup of operations with new build workover rigs, then continuously improve HSE knowledge processes and performance across all areas of responsibility.Feed and promote environmental impact reduction initiatives which is key in a project such as Tilenga.Preparations of Operations:
Advise the Engineering team during the preparation of the operational programs, make sure the timing of program preparation, and manufacturing and delivery of equipment is done on a timely manner vs the operation planning.Propose technological – digital innovations that would be beneficial to safety or performance of operations. Propose possible operational optimizationsReview and challenge operational programsParticipate to Completions Well On Paper (CWOP) and Pre-Spud meetingsCoordinate and support COMOPS / SIMOPS activities preparationDuring the operations, continue to contribute to the improvement of the wells programs and operational procedures by validating the end of wells reports and ensuring that affiliates REX and WOIP (workover improvement process) are taken into account in the reporting.Operations Follow Up:
Responsible for Workover rig operations follow-up whilst optimizing performance and costs.Support WO rig supervision for instruction updates and improvementsCoordinating the day-to-day operations with fluids, logistics and well construction and also with third parties. Ensure equipment, contingencies are delivered on time to the siteSupport COMOPS / SIMOPSAs a member of the Chain Of Command, participate to decision making and formalization; update hierarchy of current operations status and notify immediately in case of problems. Candidate ProfileQualifications & Experience:
BSc Degree, Diploma or equivalent professional experienceA valid IWCF level 4 (combined surface & subsea), Chain of command (COC) certificate (Superintendent level) and T-BOP (Company’s’ internal training) are also mandatory.Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry with various assignments as WSSV and WSI.
