Work Planner and Certified Arborists roles are ideal for entry-level and seasoned professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines OR with experience in these fields and lines of work.
Essential Functions:
Work Planners and Certified Arborists perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines; Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations; Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews; Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues; Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, experience in Utility Vegetation Management or another related field. Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation-related activities. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required. Valid driver's license required. Able to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.Other Requirements:
Able to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members. Able to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills. Vegetation management experience preferred. Experience working with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required. Readily join storm restoration efforts in times of need.Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, team-members may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Team-members are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Vegetation clearing work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions.
