Work Preparator/ Planner (Data Center)
The Work Planner is responsible for planning, detailing, and preparing work packages for maintenance, repairs, and operations activities. This role ensures that all necessary resources, tools, and documentation are identified and organized to facilitate efficient and safe task execution by the field team. This will include work package preparation, resource planning, documentation and compliance, scheduling and coordination & have a focus on continuous improvement. As a CO+I Critical Environment Technician, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** **Responsibilities:** + Developing detailed work packages that include procedures, materials, tools, and safety measures. + Reviewing work orders and collaborating with technical staff to determine scope and requirements. + Ensuring that all work packages are complete, accurate, and comply with regulatory and safety standards. + Identifying and procuring required materials, tools and equipment. + Ensuring that all resources are available and pre-staged prior to the commencement of work and coordinating materials. + Preparing and maintaining all necessary documentation, including permits, risk assessments, and method statements. + Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. + Maintaining accurate records of completed work and updates in the maintenance management system. + Collaborating with CE technician managers, schedulers and planners to align work activities with production schedules. + Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations. + Facilitating pre-job briefings and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of work plans. + Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices. + Reviewing completed work for feedback and lessons learned to enhance future work preparations. + Participating in root cause analysis and providing input on corrective actions. + Embody our culture and values **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Time spent in work preparation, planning, or a similar role + Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. + Strong understanding of maintenance practices, tools, and safety regulations in Critical Environment + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + The ability to work well with others, including cross-functional teams, is essential for coordinating work activities and ensuring minimal disruption to operation While not required, we also look for the following **Preferred Qualifications** + Certification in a relevant technical field or trade. + Experience in industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, or utilities + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Effective communication is crucial for collaborating with various teams and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of work plans and updates. **Background Check Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
