Job Title: Workday Payroll Functional Analyst I

Department: Payroll

FLSA: Exempt

General Function:

The Workday Payroll Functional Analyst I plays a key role in guiding the continued design, maintenance, and support of their functional areas. The functional analyst collaborates closely with the payroll, human resources, recruiting and information technology teams. They are the technical subject matter expert and assist with improving business processes and implementing new features. The Workday Payroll Functional Analyst I is also to serve as the payroll expert to support and educate end-users, supporting case management, and responding to time-sensitive inquiries in their area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the payroll partner supporting designated HCM areas in Workday, such as Core Payroll, HR, Talent, Advanced Compensation, etc.,Provide consultation to Business Partners, building domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysisServe as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilitiesEvaluate releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve and optimize the use WorkdayConfigure, test, validate and implement Business Process changes in WorkdayEnsure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilitiesAssist in testing of integrations, security, annual eventsEvaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancementsProvide input and knowledge sharing with Workday Team MembersParticipate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumenReports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in processing weekly payrollPerforms other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.Workday HCM experience or training preferred.Payroll functional and system experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties for this position are normally conducted in an office environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Workspace may include at both our West Des Moines Corporate Office and Grimes HST office locations.
