**This is a** **REMOTE** **(work from home) position.** **Candidate can live anywhere within the continental US but must be open to working eastern time zone hours.**
**Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The Workers’ Compensation Specialist/Consultant main objective is to Support the Manager, Workers’ Compensation in overseeing the multi-jurisdictional self-insured and insured workers’ compensation programs, ensuring TPA service level performance, state and regulatory compliance. OSHA record-keeping, OSHA log set-up and maintenance, OSHA 300A management, OSHA Serious Event Reporting.
**Essential Job Functions**
+ Daily oversight and interaction with TPA for SI program including ensuring service level performance; timely payment; recommending appropriate reserving to Manager, Workers’ Compensation; staffing cases for defense and strategy to drive early RTW and cost containment.
+ Oversight and interaction with TPA and defense counsel for litigation management.
+ Participate in quarterly TPA claim reviews for appropriate reserves and claims strategy.
+ Complete state SI renewal applications, Excess Insurance renewal applications and other state required forms.
+ Complete workers’ compensation insurance renewal applications and prepare payroll audits for insured program.
+ Oversight of OSHA record keeping including Serious Event Reporting, OSHA log set up and all aspects of OSHA 300A’s.
+ Complete annual surveys as required by Bureau of Labor Statistics.
+ Recommend to Manager claims for settlement authority, investigation, Field Case Management, reserve changes.
+ Monitor subrogation and excess insurance recoveries.
+ Obtains and maintains robust working knowledge in multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation regulations, claims administration practices, risk management information systems, ADA, FMLA, Kronos, Workday, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, BSMH policies and procedures.
+ Effective interaction and communication with internal and external customers, to include associates, managers, vendors, HR and benefits team, legal, payroll, finance, etc. Initiative and ability to think innovatively to increase efficiency of processes.
+ Collaborate with Employee Health and LOA teams for RTW/investigation, identify trends, investigation high frequency/severity claims for prevention.
**Employment Qualifications**
**Required Minimum Education:** 4 year/ Bachelors Degree
**Specialty/Major:** Human Resources, Finance, Healthcare, Business
**Minimum Years and Type of Experience:** 3-5 years of prior experience with workers’ compensation claims administration
**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** **Required:** Works Independently, takes initiative and innovative work practices. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, working knowledge FMLA/ADA
**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** **Preferred:** Workday, Kronos, Risk Management Information Systems, multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation claims administration
