Workers Comp Stat Specialist

This position is essential in the preparation and submission of the Worker’s Compensation unit statistical reports that are required by statutory guidelines established by NCCI and the Independent Workers Comp Rating Bureaus.  There are 10 bureaus that we submit unit reports to on a daily basis.  The position is currently responsible for preparing and submitting any units that have unresolved edits that need to be researched and corrected prior to submission.  Reporting requirements are for every Workers Compensation policy and by each individual state contained on the policy.   1st reports are submitted 18 months from the inception of the policy and then annually thereafter up to 10 years.  Once unit reports are submitted to the rating bureaus, we are subject to additional analytical and actuarial review of the premiums and losses submitted.  Analysts are required to respond to the rating bureaus inquiries and criticisms in order to maintain statutory compliance.  The analyst would be expected to successfully complete work volumes and meet established due dates and at the same time meet the higher data quality standards required by NCCI and the Independent Rating Bureaus thus avoiding fines and penalties. 

Key Accountabilities Include:

Utilize the Unit Stat System, Workers’ Compensation System (WCS), Claims Inquiry and other Chubb source systems Understand Unit Stat Reporting Rules, Workers’ Compensation workflows and processes Ability to work on basic to intermediate units, for all report levels and data grades for the various Rating Bureaus Consistently achieve target production for 12 months based on work plan assignments Work with supervisory guidance to understand required process and state specific learning College degree and/or significant applicable work experienceWorking knowledge with ExcelStrong interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills12-18 months experience in Unit Stat team with demonstrated proficiency in USR submission, and comprehension of regulatory concepts/rulesWorking knowledge of Unit Stat Reporting systems, WCS, Claims Inquiry, and other Chubb SystemsWorking knowledge of WC workflows and processes
