Workers Compensation Claims Administrator
What Will You Do?
The Workers Compensation Claims Administrator’s purpose of this position is to minimize financial loss resulting from Workers’ Compensation claims made against the company. This position is responsible for reporting work related claims and the supplemental documentation and information so that medical and wage loss benefits can be paid under the provisions of California Workers Compensation programs. This includes quality claim management and litigation support to the completion of each claim in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Works directly with employees, medical providers, third party administrator and attorneys to ensure quality claim management in the resolution of each claim.Conduct frequent and ongoing reviews of each case to ensure the file is reserved appropriately, documented timely, and that the TPA has implemented an aggressive action plan to resolve each claim in a timely and cost-efficient manner.Review injury reports from Health & Safety department for severity or red flags. Enter additional information into ProcessMap or current HSE program and submit to the TPA. Do continuous updates regarding time away from work or restricted duty to ensure OSHA log is correct.· Ensure WC files contain complete documentation regarding injury reports, medical notes/slips,DWC-1 form, MPN notices and company notices.
Interact directly with employees regarding initial details of the injury, progress updates, light duty job offers until claim resolution. Answer employee questions regarding WC benefits or other claim related issues.· Work with leaders and/or management regarding light duty available for their employee(s) and ensure that the TPA is informed of all work status changes (light duty, off work, full duty).
· Manage MPN program including enrollments, and mandatory postings and ensure that correct documents are being used by Human Resources at the time of hire and again by the Health/Safety Dept. when injury documents are being completed. Ensure employees understand MPN requirements.
· Work with HR regarding the Interactive Process for employees receiving permanent restrictions.
· Works with Matrix Absence Management submitting leave information when employee is off work due to medical care or restrictions. Updates Matrix when the employee returns.
· Review all WC legal documents when received by the company and notify HR, GB, and our defense counsel. Compiles litigation packet of supporting documents and submits to WC defense firm.
· Work with attorneys on investigations, depositions, witness statements, etc. until resolution of the claim.
What Do You Need?
High School Diploma or Equivalent, RequiredMinimum 3 years’ experience in Workers Comp or Health Insurance or Human ResourcesExperience interacting with employees regarding sensitive subject matter and/or difficult situations.Experience working with highly confidential information ie. personal/medical/financial/legalStrong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite programs, Windows and InternetInsurance claims handlingWorkers’ Compensation basicsProficient in applicable computer applications including MS Word, Excel, InternetHuman Resources laws/policies (ADA, FMLA, 132-A, FEHA)Must be able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner while using sound judgment and discretion in processing claims High attention to detail and accuracyEffective time management and organizational skillsEffective interpersonal communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsHandle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraintsAbility to handle and diffuse high stress/ high emotion situationsBilingual in Spanish strongly recommendedMental and Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Compensation
Min - $27.00| Max - $31.00 per hour
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
