The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

As a Workers' Compensation Claims Technician you will help people resolve problems. You will provide excellent customer service to a wide range of people, including injured workers, employers, medical personnel, attorneys, and agents. We offer variety in your position - in the people you interact with and the cases you handle. This position will also provide you with an opportunity to handle disputed and litigated cases. You will use your investigative and negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment while protecting the assets of the company. In addition to a wide range of benefits, as a direct employee, your insurance education and training are paid by Liberty Mutual Insurance.

 

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Lake Oswego, OR; Chandler, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; or Rocklin, CA, and will be required to work onsite twice a month. Those located outside a 50-mile radius of Rocklin, CA but within California may be eligible for 100% remote work, provided they have direct experience with Workers Compensation. Please note that this policy is subject to change.

 

This position may be filled as a Workers Compensation Claims Technician or a Senior Workers Compensation Claims Technician. The salary range posted reflects the range for the varying pay scale across various locations.

 

Responsibilities:

Conduct investigations including, but not limited to assessing policy coverage, contacting insureds, injured workers, doctors' offices, and other parties to determine compensability and establish reservesSet-up claims and update the loss to reflect actual circumstancesDetermine the need for independent adjusters or independent medical examiners.Evaluate claim for potential fraudAssess actual damages associated with claims and conduct negotiations to settle claimsBe involved with litigated claims as necessary. Qualifications Bachelors degree preferred, continuing insurance education desiredAt least 3 years experience handling Workers' Compensation claimsThorough knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts & claims handling guidelinesMulti-state experience preferredExperience with disputed and/or litigated claimsAbility to analyze written reports, such as medical records and legal documentationAbility to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and uphold our high standard of customer serviceNegotiation and settlement skillsHard work, honesty, integrity and unwavering business ethicsDetail-oriented organizational skills in a multi-tasking environmentSuccess driven individual who has demonstrated success in a claims adjusting role About Us
