Job Title: Workers Compensation Examiner
Job Description
Collaborates with a team consisting of an Adjuster, Corporate Nurse Consultant, and Client's field management to provide effective oversight of Workers’ Compensation claims.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor the adjuster’s work to ensure files are on the right track and moving forward with identified next steps and timelines.
+ Review claims for handling within our Quality Service Plan by the adjusters.
+ Strategize with the team, keeping the ultimate goal of timely, best possible medical outcome with cost-effective resolution of claims in mind.
+ Lead weekly Triage calls with the team.
+ Ensure reserves are set for the most likely ultimate outcome as information changes by working with the adjuster/TPA claim supervisor as needed.
+ Participate in Claim Reviews from an oversight perspective and share insights.
+ Observe and report identified trends.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of progressive Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience, including complex claims.
+ Multi-jurisdictional Workers’ Compensation claim experience is a plus.
+ Demonstrated successful ability to build positive business partnerships and work collaboratively with a team.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all business partners.
+ Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize.
+ Self-motivated.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
