Position Information
This position will be filled as a Temporary Classified—WAE (When Actually Employed) / Part-Time position without benefits, working an average of 24-30 Hours Per Week but can be more. The employee is prohibited from working more than 1245 Hours in a 12-month Period (365 Days) starting from the date of hire. An annual renewal of the WAE Appointment may be available. The employee will ONLY be paid for ACTUAL HOURS WORKED.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus two years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
A master's degree plus one year of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Provides skills development services to employers, applicants, and claimants such as job readiness skills, hygiene, personal appearance, vocation guidance, interviewing skills, career selection, reemployment, training, Unemployment Insurance Claims procedures, and/or Unemployment Insurance Appeals.
Determines eligibility for special programs or benefits.
Recruits and refers jobseekers who meet specified qualifications of employer job vacancies. Collects and analyzes hiring data, identifies employment trends, and recommends system improvements. Meets and consults with staff to maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market needs and employer feedback.
Provides advanced-level professional support for Workforce Development programs such as examining, inspecting, investigating, tracking of trends, and/or researching program activity for a Workforce Development statewide program. Compiles, edits, and produces reports/studies regarding Workforce Development programs.
Facilitates applicant group orientations to provide program overview and expectations.
Conduct interviews to assess a client’s interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality to develop educational, vocational planning or employment plans. Assist clients in developing realistic career paths.
Compiles and interprets occupational, educational, and economic information to develop and implement vocational and educational plans for clients.
Works closely with eligibility workers for related programs to receive and make client referrals. Communicates client participation or lack of participation that may impact eligibility.
Make referrals for possible educational, training and job opportunities and/or community resources.
Provide public presentations and informational sessions for community-based partners and organizations.
