Workforce Simulation Specialist

Position Summary

The Workforce Simulation Specialist will work in conjunction with a 3-year grant aimed at developing student workforce skills through the cutting-edge simulation lab at SRHS. This position is responsible for high quality support to a wide range of simulation-based activities to ensure educational goals and outcomes are accomplished within Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.  The Workforce Simulation Specialist works closely with Workforce Development and Professional Practice-Education to produce high-quality education activities.

WORC Grant Initiative Description

The project of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS), Creating Equity and Opportunity for the Rural Healthcare Workforce in Upstate South Carolina, aims to address the healthcare workforce shortage in the Appalachian region of upstate South Carolina, specifically in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties. The project will focus on creating equity and opportunity for the rural healthcare workforce through a comprehensive strategy involving partnerships with local schools, colleges, and community organizations.

Minimum Requirements

Education           

High School Diploma

Experience        

1-3 years of Healthcare setting and/or technology experience

License/Registration/Certifications       

Basic Life Support (obtain within 30 days of hire)

 

Preferred Requirements

Preferred Education      

Associates degree from an accredited college or technical school in a health or technology related field

Preferred Experience   

Simulation Center Experience strongly preferred

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications   

N/A

 

Core Job Responsibilities

Technical Operations: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment (audiovisual, computers, etc.). Conduct equipment maintenance and repairs as needed. Scenario Support: Assist with scenario setup, including props placement, moulage application, and role-playing support. Operate human patient simulators according to faculty instructions. Center Operations: Assist with tours and simulation sessions. Schedule and coordinate simulation lab utilization. Workforce Development & Research: Engage in workforce development activities involving simulation technology. Assist with data collection and analysis. Generate utilization reports as requested.

 

Additional knowledge/skills needed:

Effective communication/interpersonal skills demonstrated during interaction with people of varying personalities, cultures, and professional disciplines. Proficient using MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environment with diverse clientele. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivated and require little to no supervision. Working knowledge of medical equipment, AV systems and medical terminology. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to express technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons, including developing and using standard operating checklists. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
