The Workforce Success Specialist is responsible for the recruitment, retention, and support of individuals in the occupational training cohorts. Functions include marketing, careSuccess Specialister advising, resource and referral, provide detailed program information and inspire motivation.

 

Pay rate: $21-25/hour

Responsibilities

Ensuring that effective and equitable delivery of advising and support services are accessible to all students.

 

Facilitating career opportunities by providing candidates with accurate and up-to-date information and equal opportunities to explore and evaluate post-secondary education, training, and employment options.

 

Communicating regularly with participants and analyzing data to identify factors related to program access, participation, and completion.

 

Proactively taking steps or making recommendations to other staff to support participants facing barriers including referring students to outside social service agencies as needed.

 

Assist all participants with locating and completing forms, maintaining employment, applying to postsecondary institutions, and connecting with local partner agencies.

 

Collaborate with the Program Director and Workforce Development staff in intake, orientation, planning and evaluation activities.

 

Track attendance patterns and conduct individual student follow-up related to attendance as needed.

 

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Human Services, Education, Human Development, Management, or related field required.

 

Experience in early childhood education, childcare, human services, social work, or family support.

 

Excellent oral and written communication.

 

Proficient ability to use computers and information technology products, including Microsoft Office, to conduct daily operations on a laptop, desktop, or tablet.

 

Demonstrated ability to organize resources.

 

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of professional staff and clients to deliver and improve systems and services to clients.

 

Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and tasks.

 

Ability to carry out primary job functions while sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Additional requirements may include: Speaking, listening, twisting, walking.
Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
May be required to move equipment (laptop, medication cart, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee is required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
Ability to drive.
