Working Student Software Engineering (d/f/m)6-12 months, 20 hours a week, hybrid work model, student status required

About the team and the role:

We are in the process of launching a brand-new engineering hub in Germany. Several new engineering teams within the area of payments are being created in our Dreilinden office located in the greater Berlin area. We are looking for a passionate student of Computer Science or a related university degree to join our team who can help us build exciting products at eBay. You will be contributing to the development of  modern native Android applications using Kotlin, focusing on creating new experiences for millions of users. During your six months working student time (extensible to 12 months), you will be mentored by experienced software engineers and learn how to work in a team of Software Engineers at one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world. It’s a unique opportunity to be part of a new team based on a collaborative, transparent and highly technical team culture.

What you will accomplish:

Learn how to work in a team of Software Engineers, including Sprint planning, coding, code reviews, and writing unit tests.Contribute to the development of native Android applications using Kotlin.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following coding standards and guidelines.Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

What you will bring:

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master degree in computer science or similar technical degreePassion for software engineering and willingness to learn from experienced engineersFirst experience building native Android applications with Java / Kotlin.Good written and oral communication skills in EnglisheBay requires you to be present in the Dreilinden office two days per week on average
