Working Student – Vehicle Aerodynamics (m/f/d)

Job Summary:

Altair has an opening for a vehicle aerodynamics intern who will join Altair’s dynamic and agile ultraFluidX vehicle aerodynamics team.  ultraFluidX is Altair’s high-fidelity CFD solution for transient external aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. The GPU-based lattice Boltzmann solver delivers unbeatable performance for the ultra-fast prediction of aerodynamic properties of passenger and heavy-duty vehicles, aero-acoustics, and building and environmental aerodynamics. The successful applicant will work on the validation of the solvers for the road vehicle aerodynamics and support documentation in close collaboration with technical specialists and the ultraFluidX development team. 

What You Will Do:

 

Conduct challenging academic and industrial aerodynamic simulations for road vehicles Support documentation of validations and guidelines Collaborate closely with development and QA teams

 

What You Will Need:

 Basics:

Master's student specializing in mechanical engineering, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), vehicle aerodynamics Master's student currently enrolled in university in Germany Passion for numerical simulation and finding creative solutions for challenging mathematical and physical problems Willingness to work in a close-knit, agile development team Fluent English language skills

 Preferred:

Familiarity with Altair Engineering software products Experience with commercial or academic CFD software Experience with custom programming (Python, MATLAB, Bash, C++) Experience with Linux-based operating system Familiarity with commercial CAD applications Experience with wind tunnel experiment
