Licensed Workshop Technician

Currently we have an opening for a licensed Workshop Technician.  The Workshop Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aspects of Sandvik equipment and components.

What you will be doing

Follows scope of work within time constraints to meet established delivery targetsInspects equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctionsAdjusts equipment and repairs/replaces defective parts components or systems according to scope of workIdentifies additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to the supervisorTests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performanceCompletes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submits drawing revisionsActively participates in continuous improvement initiativesStays current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practicesBuilds sound relationships with the workshop team and internal and external customers to ensure smooth operationsSupports and acts as a mentor to workshop apprenticesUndertakes self-training and development as requiredPerforms other relevant duties as assigned by the Manager

What you will bring along

Technical (Mechanical) diploma is requiredRed Seal certification is requiredMinimum 3-5 years’ related experience with industry specific equipmentPrevious experience with Sandvik equipment is considered an assetAbility to read/comprehend related schematicsAbility to work as part of an integrated, broad teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsFlexible and self-motivated with demonstrated initiativeAbility to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuildsTime management and organizational skillsComputer literacy (MS Office, Outlook)Automotive, truck & coach or heavy-duty equipment experience is considered a strong asset
