The WOCN collaborates with the Medical Staff, nursing associates and other ancillary departments in developing, implementing and providing care to a specific population. Under general supervision, and according to established practices and professional standards, provides and/or coordinates the care and service of patients with specific disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems such as ostomies, fistulae, tubes, dermal wounds, pressure ulcers, and fecal or urinary incontinence, across the continuum of illness. Promotes effective utilization, monitors healthcare resources, and assists patients and families with resolutions of personal and environmental problems which prohibit or limit the patient from maximum benefits from medical care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Combination of education and experience which equates to:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or closely related field is required. WOCN Course completion, certification Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Indiana. Maintain current BLS provider certification.
