Job Summary and Qualifications **Wound Care Registered Nurse PRN** What you will do in this role: The Wound Care RN leads in the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in the Advanced Wound Care Center with the goal of preventing hospital-acquired infections and facilitate the healing of patients who present admission wounds. Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound policies and procedures (evidence based practice) + Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound order sets (evidence based practice) + Consults and develops plans of care (per nursing process and scope) for patients with ostomies and wounds (evidence based practice) + Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served + Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures + Documents all required components of patient care + Facilitates and supports ongoing ostomy and wound care education for staff members + Collects, analyzes and reports essential information related to wound prevalence, wound incidence and departmental operations to appropriate bodies + Leads and/or participates on performance improvement teams + Acts as liaison between Centennial Medical Center and internal/external customers + Supports the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Assist in coordinating the department’s participation in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. **What qualifications you will need:** + Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred + Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing. + Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. + Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification required within 30 days of hire or promotion + Current CWON or CWOCN certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire TriStar Horizon Medical Center is an accredited, 150+ bed regional medical center.
