**8am - 4:30pm/ Full Time/ 40 Hours**
Salary range - $16.10-$24.96
We're seeking a **Wound Care Tech for Emory Midtown Hospital** responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work an ensuring the safety for all patients.
This individual will:
+ Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including but not limited to: cleaning the patient's room, operating various clinical equipment, helping with emergencies, assisting with patient procedures, collecting and transporting patient specimens and completing applicable forms.
+ Communicates with patients, families and members of the patient care team. Maintains hospital and unit-specific competencies.
+ As part of a patient focused service, promotes a supportive and healing environment so that customer and staff satisfaction are enhanced. Assists in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN. Ensures that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
+ Complies with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment. Assists in the use of bag-valve-mask device, anti-embolism stockings, pneumatic compression stockings, oxygen, suction equipment, incentive spirometer, emergency cart and bedside glucose monitoring machine.
+ Operates converter chair, lifts, scales, beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, non-invasive BP monitors, automatic thermometer, sphygmomanometer, pulse oximeter, and computers. Records patient intake and output. Assists RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs by performing ,and assisting with range of motion, ambulation, patient transfers, diet, elimination and hygiene.
+ Observes and reports significant or unusual information about the patient and environment to the RN/LPN and documents appropriately and in a timely manner. Transports patients and patient specimens throughout the hospital as needed. Contributes to the completion of patient admission, transfer, and discharge. Assists with postmortem care. Utilizes appropriate technology to complete all related processes.
+ Participates in unit-based and system-wide Performance Improvement program as required by department leadership. Serves as a resource/model through compliance with standards of care and with Department of Nursing and Hospital policies and procedures. May participate in research projects impacting patient care areas. Participates in the orientation of nursing support assistants to the unit. Performs other related responsibilities as required. Demonstrates understanding of wound products and proper utilization within the nurse-driven protocols. Assists WOC RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs including negative pressure wound therapy applications and maintenance. While performing follow-up visits, reports changes or concerns; measures wound progress; and performs wound photography to WOC RN/LPN. Demonstrates the ability to position and prepare patients and patients¿ room for wound procedures.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
+ Must meet all of the following requirements: 1) Two years of experience of direct patient care experience OR, 2) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through State of Georgia. In addition, must have six (6) months of employment at EHC. Completion, approval and maintenance of Advanced progression plan portfolio.3) Completion of the Wound Care Technician (WTC-C) course and certification (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within 12 months of hire.
