Marians offers Santa Maria Valley residents access to the most advanced technologies an expanded and enhanced Emergency Department Critical Care Unit neonatal intensive care unit and an array of womens services. **Responsibilities** **About This Position** In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy the Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse monitors facilitates evaluates and provides care and teaching of patients with ostomies dermal ulcers fistula and incontinence problems. Ensures follow-up of in-patients and counsels outpatients by physician referral. Performs specialized procedures within guidelines of specialization and under the physicians orders. Demonstrates effective teaching strategies for both patients and staff Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates clear effective written and oral English skills and objective active listening skills Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others across all departments. **RN Selection Criteria** At least 1 year Enterostomal Therapy experience preferred. Acute hospital experience preferred. Graduation from an IAET-approved school of Enterostomal Therapy. Demonstrates proficiency in wound care and enterostomal nursing. Demonstrates the ability to appropriately delegate patient-care tasks related to wound care to other staff members. Current California Registered Nurse license. ET Certification preferred.
