Employees in the Investigations workgroup generally work independently performing site visits to determine issues with assets and/or customer related issues. Employees interact face to face with customers, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Essential Duties + Inspecting equipment and materials in the field for proper installation, preventative maintenance, and potential problems or hazards + Using specialized equipment and computers to analyze data and enter fieldwork requests and work orders. + Assisting customers with on-site questions and concerns regarding utility services + Completing forms and reporting detailed activities and findings. + Investigating, researching, calling/meeting customer onsite to discuss finding. + Maintaining and stocking assigned vehicles with necessary equipment and materials used to complete tasks. + Working in confined spaces as well as continuous squatting, kneeling, lifting and excavating with shovels and other hand tools. + Performing other duties of a similar nature or level + Serving as a liaison between the County and citizens while coordinating utility repair Other Job Requirements/Information + This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. + This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Water Resources Trades Associate I: This class is responsible for assisting with daily maintenance and repair of water distribution and collection lines. This position is a grade A12(3): + High School diploma or GED + Valid driver's license + Georgia commercial driver's license must be obtained within 1 year Water Resources Trades Associate II: This class is responsible for having specialized knowledge in area of assignment, researching problems, and maintaining work reports. This position is a grade B213. This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace. This position is a Grade B21(3): + High School diploma or GED + Two years of related work experience + An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will be considered + Valid driver's license + Georgia commercial driver's license must be obtained within 1 year + Confined Space Certification must be obtained within 6 months Water Resources Trades Associate III: This class is responsible for serving as a lead to lower staff and is proficient in most areas of assignment; some positions may supervise limited staff or serve as a lead worker in the absence of the supervisor.
