We understand the transformative power of architecture and design, and we are building a world-class writing and multimedia team to tell the stories of how they impact the way we live. Up first is a focus on condominium and co-op living, with a specific focus on the Manhattan market. We are building a new best-in-class reported editorial initiative, and are seeking informed, experienced, enthusiastic writers to join and co-create this new project. **Role Description:** As a writer, you’ll be a part of a dynamic, motivated team that brings architectural sophistication to a real estate platform. Through expert reporting, you’ll write about the design of condominium and co-op buildings in New York City. Our current focus on high-end properties (like Herzog & de Meuron’s 56 Leonard, Robert A.M. Stern’s 15 Central Park West, and Annabelle Selldorf’s Park House to help consumers get a true feel for what it’s like to live in these buildings, and to understand the architectural value behind what they’re seeking. This is the first time a home listings company has taken architectural design seriously, and we are looking for experts in the field. **Responsibilities:** • Research, report, and write about condominium and co-ops in New York City and beyond to create authoritative guides for residential home enthusiasts. • Work with photographers to create immersive written and visual content packages for Homes.com. • Interview real estate agents, designers, architects and a variety of other sources to capture an insiders’ view of condominium and co-op buildings and their surrounding neighborhoods. • Arrange some site visits for additional in-person reporting • Aid in writing about local neighborhoods, schools, and parks to create guides for prospective home buyers. • Write neighborhood narratives and video scripts. • Collaborate across a variety of teams including SEO, photo, and video to produce cohesive content. • Manage concurrent projects at a range of stages, from concept through to production. • Work closely with top editor to develop style, voice, and overall content approach • Work with team to develop ways to spotlight and promote this content to Homes.com readers. • Present work to other team members and stakeholders to recruit feedback, iterate and improve. **Basic Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, or Communications, or related fields, from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College. • Minimum 5 years of writing/editing experience, including some experience writing about real estate and architecture. • A proven ability to meld details including statistics, aesthetic details and architectural influences into compelling written storytelling. • Strong research skills, including first-party telephone interviews, to develop content. • Strong proofreading skills. • A track record of commitment to prior employers. • Experience following the Associated Press Stylebook (AP Stylebook) guidelines. • Proven track record of delivering high-quality content adhering to deadlines and deliverables. • Excellent grammar and spelling. **Preferred Qualifications:** • Knowledge of architectural history and style. • Experience with MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Strong verbal and written skills communicating ideas, concepts, and designs. • Ability to multi-task assignments through multiple stages of production. • Highly collaborative. **What’s in it for you?** Working at CoStar Group means you'll enjoy a culture of collaboration and innovation that attracts the best and brightest across a broad range of disciplines.
