Summary This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Management Services, Customer Strategy Directorate (AJG-C). This Directorate is responsible for ensuring a strategic and customer-centric perspective to advocate for the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Service Units and to monitor customer service and experience, employee engagement, strategic planning and organizational health activities. Responsibilities The senior writer-editor applies knowledge of their professional writing experience (newspaper, broadcast television, magazine, or professional trade publication) and applies analytical methods and techniques to develop various communications products. The products will articulate Management Services (AJG) and Air Traffic Organization (ATO) programs and policies. You will be responsible for researching topics and writing articles for the ATO Minute and AJG executive announcements to the ATO. As a trusted advisor, you will establish and maintain internal and external AJG client relationships to help them reach their communications goals. You will provide leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive. This work directly affects the ATO's strategic alignment, direction, and resources to accomplish our safety mission. The senior writer-editor applies writing style guides, such as the Associated Press (AP) Style Manual and federal plain language, ensuring that content is concise, factual, and accurate. Duties include writing and editing materials, including reports, articles, newsletters, training materials, brochures, pamphlets, talking points, or scripts, to simplify complex information tailored to specific media and audiences. The ideal candidate will have professional video production and script and storyboard writing experience for broadcast television or corporate communications. Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as: -Experience using accepted writing guides to write and edit materials that convey information to target audience. AND -Experience examining project performance metrics to evaluate project progress, and identifying and implementing improvements or changes. You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history. Errors or omissions may impact your rating or may result in you not being considered.
