The Writing Center seeks to fill a vacancy for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters on the Uintah Basin Campus. The successful applicant will be expected to perform both face-to-face tutoring as well as on-line live tutoring via http://distance.usu.edu/tutoring/.

Responsibilities This position involves helping students become better writers.This position will require successful applicants to work an average of ten to twelve hours per week as Writing Center peer responders. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of English 1010 and 2010.Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a desire to read and respond to student writing assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be familiar with (or willing to learn) on-line tutoring interface.Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.Attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal abilities.Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision. Advertised Salary $15.00 per hour ADA

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
