X-Ray Operator

Position Summary:

Learns and is expected to perform high quality radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional, courteous manner. Applies knowledge of radiation protection, emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.

Work Schedule: .9 FTE - Covers the following clinics: Maple Grove, Champlin, Rogers, & Brookdale. 

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

Must maintain current CPR skills.

Successful completion of State operator certification exam.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and proper application of radiographic principles. 

Strong verbal communication skills, ability to problem solve and use independent judgment. 

Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. 

Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Radiologic Devices, Processors, Printers, Telephone, Positioning Tables, ID Camera, Densitometer, Sensitometer, Computer (including E-mail) Fax Machine and Photocopier.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Knowledgeable in the operation of fluoro equipment including, but not limited to, Large C-Arms (GE OEC Elite, 9900 and 9800 models), mini c-arm set up (Hologic Insight).
2.    Knowledgeable in fluoro guided contrast and non-contrast exams.
3.    Operate the c-arm for Joint Injections, Epidural Steroid Injections, Radiofrequency Ablations for the performing clinician.
4.    Knowledgeable with best practices for setting up and maintaining  Sterile Fields in the ASC and clinical setting.
5.    Knowledgeable with best practices regarding proper disposal of sharps and best practices for injury prevention.
6.    Knowledgeable with sending images captured via c-arms and other live fluoro devices to PACS.
