QuadMed is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to join our Health and Wellness Center supporting Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) employees and dependents located in Newport News, VA.
This is a PRN/as needed position to support our Newport News clinic. Typical hours needed for coverage are between 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, based on availability.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians or midlevel providers and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Provide for the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients during the procedure. Maintain accurate patient and department records.

Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care, including: Proper positioning/centering of part/patientProper technical factor selectionProper image/patient identificationProper use of image receptorsProper, professional patient care and assessmentProper radiation protection provided for patient/staff/general publicProper documentation maintainedWorks as a member of the health care team including physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in diagnostic testing proceduresAdheres to medical and surgical asepsis and standard precautions as required per procedurePerforms clerical duties, processes images, and maintains proper inventory of suppliesAssists in the clinical education of other health care professionals and patientsAssists with quality control/performance improvement measures as requiredMaintains licensure/certification through continuing education.Job Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredGraduate of an accredited School of Radiologic TechnologyExperience:
EMR experience preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Registered and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible, obtaining registry within six (6) months of hireLicensed by the state of practice Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hireKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
