X-ray Technologist/Specialist I (Mammography)
+ DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION + Perform a wide variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Requires initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis. May be assigned independent responsibilities by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. • Proper care of the client following the departmental and hospital policies and procedures are required. May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. • Practices infection control in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and regulatory standards. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems. Demonstrates ability to operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment and PACS. PACs applications. Completes annual mandatory education to include infection control and HIPAA. Maintains department competencies as required. + POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) + Experience: + 2 years as a diagnostic technologist preferred, 1 year as a mammography technologist preferred but will train candidates + Education and Training: + Must have completed formal ACR-approved Radiologic Technology program for radiology and mammography preferred unless training + License, Certification & Registration: + ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography. + ARRT(M) – Mammography-Unless Training and working towards certification + CPR is required. + MALIC(R)(M) - Mass License in Radiography and Mammography (or working towards Mammography certification if training in this modality + Other Requirements: + Must have excellent patient care skills. Must be current with all continuing education for both radiology and mammography if appropropriate
