Job Description
The main responsibility of an X-Ray Technologist is to ensure that imaging tests are performed safely and correctly in a hospital, imaging center, urgent care center, outpatient clinic, or other facility.
ResponsibilitiesInterpret the order for the test to determine what body parts need imaging.Explain the test to patients and position them to make the test possible.Set the controls on X-ray equipment in preparation for imaging.Check X-ray images and retake them as needed to ensure clarity.Clean and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep X-ray equipment operating smoothly.Send X-ray images to other medical providers for reading.Inventory and stock films and radiologic supplies.Update patient records with pertinent information.Essential SkillsARRT Certification.Attention to detail to follow instructions precisely and produce useful diagnostic images.Communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.Physical stamina to work long hours on their feet and lift patients as needed.Technical skills to operate complex machinery, such as CT scanners.Patient care skills to put patients at ease and provide emotional support.Organizational skills to manage patient files and prioritize workflow.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.Work Environment
This role is based in an orthopedic office, seeing patients for bone-related issues. The position involves scheduled patients with little to no walk-ins and a high volume of bone scans versus abdominal or lung scans. Expect to perform 20-30 scans a day.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $85280.00
