**Job Title: Yard/Gate Operator** **Job Description** The Yard/Gate Operator will work a shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. In this role, you will assist in checking in trailers and coordinating their placement within the yard. You will use a straightforward app on an iPad to upload photos and SKUs, streamlining the process. This position requires you to perform under pressure, especially during busy periods. You will be working outside, operating a forklift for about 25% of the time, although this may vary. You will engage in frequent communication with yard staff and outside vendors. Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify issues are essential. **Hard Skills** + Forklift operation (comfortable with large 36-ton forklifts) + Basic mechanical knowledge + Conducting FMCSA & BIT safety inspections (training provided) + Driving heavy lift and yard tractors + Using gate app for in-gate and out-gate moves + Performing ingate inspections to identify damages/repairs **Soft Skills** + Strong communication skills + Problem-solving abilities + Organizational skills + Good personality for dealing with clients **Job Type** This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Seattle, Washington. **Work Environment** The work environment is outdoors in a small shop, often involving dirty conditions and operation of large forklifts, rain or shine. There are amenities such as a nice break room, locker rooms, and computer rooms. The team holds monthly safety meetings where everyone is encouraged to participate. Peak season usually occurs in the summer.
