Job Description

Onin Staffing is looking for a Yard Jockey in the Elizabethtown, NC area. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and trucks within our warehouse yard. This position plays a critical part in ensuring that operations run smoothly and that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading.

Pay rate: $15.00-16.25/hr.Monday to Friday and weekends as needed.2nd shift: 2:30pm to 11:30pm.Temporary Assignment.Affordable health insurance you can actually use, including $5 copays, $5 prescriptions, and free Telehealth services

What you'll do as: Meherrin Yard Jockey

Safely move trailers and trucks within the yard to and from loading docks and parking areas.Maintain an organized yard by managing the placement and flow of trailers and trucks.Operate yard trucks and potentially forklifts to efficiently move trailers.Inspect trailers and trucks for safety issues, following all safety protocols.Coordinate with staff for accurate trailer positioning and maintain records of movements.

Work Experience

The preferred candidate might:

Experience in truck driving or operating yard trucks.Strong understanding of safety procedures related to moving trailers and trucks.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Physical ability to lift, climb, and maneuver trailers in tight spaces.
