Yard Jockey - Class A
Shift: Shift Full-time, Sunday-Thursday 4pm- to close contingent on shift needs Pay:Starting $21.00 Hourly Off on Major Holidays (8 Total) Must be 21 Year of Age Must have Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (1 year minimum experience) Benefits: Medical (default plan free to employees, spouse, and dependents), Dental and Vision (available first of the month following 30 days of employment), Vacation Pay, Paid Holidays, and 401k with Company match (after 60 days of employment) Position Summary:   A Yard Jockey is responsible for efficiently and accurately selecting and staging trailers for loading and transport while ensuring proper temperature control with proper understanding and operation of refrigeration equipment and other duties as assigned. May be required to drive commercial vehicles on public roadways   Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:  Maneuver and back trailers into loading docks, opens bay doors, prepare trailer, and assist in loading/unloading product. Maneuver trailers into parking slips to ensure there is no traffic back up in the yard. Follow all safety protocols including performing safety checks to secure trailer and operating all equipment in a safe and professional manner. Use other warehouse equipment to help load products into trailers. Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are clean and in good working condition. Other projects or duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience:  Must be at least 21 years of age Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with DOT requirements Must be able to pass a post-offer background, DOT Physical and drug test  Preferred Skills and Experience:  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Have at least 1 year Class A commercial driving experience or equivalent driving experience in the military Experience operating yard vehicles, trailers, or forklift Physical Demands and Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
