As a Yield Enhancement Failure Analysis Shfit engineer at Micron you will perform Electrical and Physical Failure Analysis (EFA/PFA) investigative work for defect issues identified by YE and Fab customers. Works on rotating 12-hour shifts. Monitors recently probed material and categorizes dead die into known defect issue categories and investigates new or unknown defect issues. Prioritizes work following YE’s Queue.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

Yield Monitoring, Investigation and Response

Monitors probed material and performs manual yield accounting utilizing defect referencesPerforms advanced data analysis on new issues, documents findings and communicates to part ownersMentors and assists FA technicians with yield investigations

Performs Failure Analysis and Communicates Results

Able to perform electrical and physical failure analysis defined by area skill guidelinesPerforms advanced data analysis to support failure analysis results in pursuit of root causeSummarizes investigation findings into a single report, including the potential root caseMentors and assists FA Technicians with complex FA testing and techniques

Operates Lab Equipment

Able to efficiently operate all lab equipment while adhering to defined safety guidelinesUnderstands equipment operation and can perform basic troubleshooting of SEM, Dual Beam FIB, and TEM.

Supports Company and Department Objectives

Works to support company and department objectives and vision plansOpen to suggesting new ideas and participates in projects and teams in support of department and company objectives

Continuous ImprovementCompletes and maintains all required training certifications defined by area guidelinesMaintains technical knowledge of device structure and function for current and future partsSuggests improvements for department and works with leadership to implement changes

 

Education

Bachelors or Masters’ degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physical Science (Chemistry, Biology or Physics)
