Young Adult Program Director ( Mental Health )

Salary : 62,960/ yr

Sign on Bonus : $2000; $666 upon completion of 30 days, $666 upon completion of 6 months, $668 upon completion of 9 months 

Schedule : Mon - Fri 9 am - 5 Pm 

The Healthy Transitions Program Director oversees the operation of the Healthy Transitions Drop-in Center in which youth and young adults with lived experience of mental health conditions choose to join as participants and work collaboratively on their recovery goals. The Healthy Transitions Program Director will provide leadership to Young Adult Peer Mentors, Peer Coordinators and Transition to Independence staff within in the Drop-in Center to create the culture of a unified network of recovery-oriented supports and activities. The Healthy Transitions Program Director will strive for an emphasis on effective engagement using Motivational Interviewing techniques, high quality standards and provide excellent value to participants in order to foster an environment in which youth voice and youth choice is priority.

 

Responsibilities include:

Oversees day-to-day operation of the Drop-In setting, including scheduling and that YYA informed and directed programming is in place. Collaborates on the development of new initiatives, including peer support/educational/social activities with the Leadership Council, Young Adult Peer Mentors, and the YYA members of the Drop In. Ensures staff support YYA to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams, and goals effectively. Directly supervises the Peer Coordinators, Young Adult Peer Mentors, and Drop-in TIP Facilitators. Provides direction, training, and coaching for all services, and, if applicable, volunteers. Implements supervision, recognition and rewards programs, and conducts performance review sessions and corrective action, as needed for program staff. Provides guidance on career development to all program staff. Provides consistent and direct performance feedback to all staff at the Drop In. Maintains staff schedules. Manages staff time off to maintain operational excellence. Teaches and consults with staff to develop and deliver helpful service interventions/approaches and programming. Conducts staff meetings and supervision. Orients new program staff. Ensures maintenance and safety of physical site. Serves as a resource for neighbors, public officials, and other providers. Performs other related duties, as required.
