Youth Care Advocate - DSP
Amergis Healthcarehas an opportunity for a compassionate Youth Advocate to work in Framingham, MA. This entry-level role offers a chance to gain skills and experience in human services and education. Pay: $25/hour Qualifications: + Fluency in the English language + Experience as a coach/mentor working with at risk youth Schedule: 7am - 3pm or 3pm - 11pm Job Duties: This position provides a great opportunity to positively influence a youth’s life by being a patient and supportive caregiver. The role is multifaceted and includes teaching, limit setting, advocating, coordinating care, and serving as a role model and mentor. + Engage actively with youth in a participatory and positive, strength based manner. + Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment. + Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity. + Foster the youth’s skills and interests and mentor their positive development. + Implement program activities and maintain safe and effective program operations. + Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth. + Complete necessary paperwork and reporting requirements. + Act in an ethical and professional manner, and maintain clear boundaries with youth, co-workers and supervisor(s). + Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills.
